The “Garden Room”

Construction of the first DESIGNSCAPE Garden room was recently completed and offers a new departure for us in 2010. The office will serve as our studio space and signifies the beginning of a new phase in our continuing development.

Following the recent recession and increase in the use of technology, namely the internet, many more people are working from home in self contained garden buildings.

We have thoroughly enjoying the process of both design and implementation of the new office building and we believe that offering this type of product within the framework of a garden design will be an valuable prospect. The unit is completely self contained with its own electrical supply and telephone/broadband, its lavish insulation using the latest CELOTEX wall boards means that it is useable all year round. The roof is drained into a series of waterbutts which can store water to feed the garden during the hot summer months while uPVC windows and doors ensure the maximum light enters the space.

The outside of the building has been clad using a treated softwood featheredge board, the 200mm width of each horizontal ensures that the building has a solid feel about it and will be stained in the spring to a darker colour (blending with the surrounding trees). We have included some discreet external lighting to allow accessability at any time of day, colour changing LED fittings illuminate the front of the building and can be changed using a hand held remote control.

If you would like any information about Garden Buildings or would like to have an informal chat about some ideas, please do not hesitate to contact us and we would be really happy to help.
